Kids Computer Games

With all of the video games out today it is hard for a parent to know what video games they should buy for their kids. Fortunately there is a ratings system (ESRB) for video games that parents can and should utilize when deciding on the appropriate video games for their children.
ESRB Ratings Guide

Computer Games for Kids can vary greatly in their themes such as the classic arcade games as pacman to some very violent games such as Grand Theft Auto. I don't know about you but I really doubt that allowing your 9 year old to play a violent game such as GTA would be healthy for anyone.
So keep your children safe and be sure to use the ESRB ratings guide whenever purchasing a new video game for your child.

For parents that are not quite up to date on video game systems HomeComputerGames.com has provided a Parent's Guide To Video Game Systems to assist parents in learning about all of the various gaming systems available.

Thank you for stopping by.

Michael Jackson's Death Causing Record Sales

The music world was turned on end with the unfortunate and untimely death of Michael Jackson this past week. In a rush to collect memorabilia of the King of Pop people flocked to the stores to buy Michael Jackson music cds and merchandise.

Much of the Icon's merchandise had been sitting idly on store shelves for years since the demise of his career and was not in great supply.
Within 48 hours of the announcement of the Death of this Legend HomeComputerGames.com had sold it's last MJ CD. Soon following where other online stores such as Amazon.com and Target with their supplies of MJ products at near zero. Suppliers and warehouses were in a mad rush to keep up with the demand on the once stalled musicians Albums.

Further in the news of this untimely tragedy is accusations that prescription medications may have played a role in the death of Michael Jackson.

I would have wagered that this was going to happen!
Why do they always have to include a conspiracy? Why can't people just die?! IT happens....people do die without some underlying, devious cause! IF he was taking medication then he probably was ill... Leave it at that and do not try and destroy someone else as an excuse.

Anyway,
Joe Jackson, the father of Michael Jackson, is speaking out for the first time since the death of his son.
"That's what we're trying to find out right now," Jackson's father told People.com when asked if prescription drugs played a role in the death of Michael Jackson. "We're trying to find out that information. When we find it out, we'll know."

No matter what the cause, the music of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, will certainly live on.

Still Gaming After All These Years

So here I am with one year left before I turn half a century old. And what is foremost on my mind?

Finding time to play Sims 3 of course!!
One of The Hottest PC Games on the market!
It has been laying on my desk for over a week now and I still have not had time to play it! I don't want to start in on playing it yet because I know that this game is huge and playing it is not a one hour event. And I have a LOT of work to get done first.
Once I start playing I do KNOW that I will end up putting an entire day in on it before I know what has happened. That's the way it is with the Sims games. You get caught up in it's addicting God like features.
"If the wife and kids won't listen to you, you can always turn to the Sims to fulfill any control issues that you may have :)"

Hey, I guess if you can't go out and have fun as yourself then do it as a virtual character! It saves on gas and money. And at my age getting up and actually moving around is becoming more of a burden :-/

Perhaps I will be able to get a few hours in next weekend.......no...that is a holiday. Well then perhaps the next. One thing I do know is once I start, it may be a weekend before I come up for air.

You would think at my age I would't enjoy playing kids games. BAH!
These are no mere kids games I play. They can be quite a challenege when played on Brutal!
Playing these types of video games helps me to keep my mind young and sharp. You must focus and concentrate on just the game at the higher settings. There is no room for mistakes. On some games you will use every bit of your cunning and skill to defeat the game. But defeat it you will! No matter if it takes 1000 tries! No computer game is going to beat me!!

Being a programmer sometimes my brain will get cluttered with so many unanswered algorithms that I'll short circuit out where nothing gets done.
When this happens there is nothing better to clear out the garbage than to spend a couple of hours blasting the Nazis to pieces with my mortar teams in Company of Heroes or picking off orcs with my Elven Archers in Rise of the Witch King!
Yes, there is nothing better to clear the mind with than a little world domination!

Ok, I must get back to work so I can clutter my mind.

Here's to all of you Old Time Gamers!

Cheers,

Ken
